ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) – A late-night car fire has turned into a potential homicide investigation which has engaged an investigation.
Crews were called to a fire on Bates Road between Townshipline road and Harris road where firefighters found an SUV on fire 10:30 p.m. Friday.

Body found in a burning SUV in Abbotsford
Abbotsford police were called and while the investigation is in the early stages, officers quickly realized the death was suspicious.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team confirmed on Twitter early Saturday that investigators were on site in the 5300-block of Bates Road.
The investigation is being treated as suspicious with Integrated Homicide Investigation Team now in charge of the investigation.

Homicide detectives have been handed the case after police say a body was discovered in a burnt-out SUV in Abbotsford, B.C.
Police say the incident is being treated as suspicious, however, no further details have been released.
