One person dead after single-vehicle collision in Caledon: OPP

Ontario Provincial Police Const. Tamara Schubert says that a sedan was travelling in the vicinity of McLaughlin Road and The Grange Side Road when it veered of the roadway and went off an embankment at around 1:10 p.m.

While it remains unclear what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway, Schubert said that the roads in the area were wet at the time.

According to Caledon OPP spokesperson Const. Tamara Schubert it was a single vehicle collision involving a motor vehicle that left the roadway for an unknown reason. One person has sustained fatal injuries and is deceased, and the road will remain closed for several hours while police investigate.

McLaughlin Road closed after fatal car accident

One person is dead following a single-vehicle collision on a rural road in Caledon on Wednesday afternoon.

At 1:08 p.m. this afternoon officers from the Caledon OPP were dispatched to a single vehicle collision at the intersection of McLaughlin Road and the Grange Sideroad.

According to Ontario Provincial Police, the collision occurred around 1:10 p.m. near the intersection of McLaughlin and The Grange Side roads.

OPP Const. Tamara Schubert said early reports from the scene suggest the driver lost control and went off an embankment.

While the exact cause of the collision is unknown, Schubert said that the roads in the area were wet from afternoon rain at the time of the incident.

The OPPs Technical Traffic Collision Investigation unit has been called to the scene, Schubert said.

Two people have died after a collision involving a fuel tanker truck and another vehicle on Highway 407 in Vaughan.
