Belleville police arrest 7 after reported violent break-and-enter - Global News
Seven arrested, $6500 worth of drugs seized
Seven Belleville residents are facing a total of 26 charges after officers executed a search warrant at a Belleville motel.

According to police, the charges stem from a reported home invasion that took place on Tuesday at a Station Street address.

According to a police news release, while officers were on Station Street, they noticed what they believed to be a home invasion. Not long afterwards, a call to police reported several people had broken into a Station Street home.

A man inside the home was allegedly sprayed with mace and kicked, and his cellphone was stolen, police say.

Seven individuals believed to be responsible for the alleged incident were located at a local motel, according to police.

While arresting the suspects, police say officers seized 42 grams of crystal meth, 23 grams of cocaine, a small amount of hashish, prescription pills, bear spray and a BB gun.

Belleville resident Nicholas ODoherty, 40, was arrested and charged with robbery with a weapon, two counts of – possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine and methamphetamine and proceeds of crime. He was also on a recognizance of bail on drug related charges and as a result was charged with four counts of breach of recognizance.

Belleville resident Jacob Kirton, 33, was arrested and charged with robbery with a weapon, two counts – possession for trafficking – cocaine and methamphetamine and proceeds of crime. He had two warrants from Belleville Police Service for breach probation and fail to attend court and outstanding warrants from Orillia OPP and Barrie Police Service.

Belleville resident Matthew Bushey, 36, was arrested and charged with robbery with a weapon, two counts – possession for trafficking – cocaine and methamphetamine and proceeds of crime.

Belleville resident Tasha Hennessey, 26, was arrested and charged with robbery with a weapon, two counts – possession for trafficking – cocaine and methamphetamine and proceeds of crime.

Belleville resident Bryan Smith, 35, was arrested and charged with robbery with a weapon, two counts – possession for trafficking – cocaine and methamphetamine and proceeds of crime.

Belleville resident Christopher Thirlwall, 33, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession for trafficking – cocaine and methamphetamine and proceeds of crime. He also had warrants from Belleville Police Service for breach probation and was on a bail recognizance and as a result of the investigation was charged with two counts of breach of that recognizance.

Belleville resident Jennifer Sweet, 33, was arrested and charged with two counts – possession for trafficking – cocaine and methamphetamine and proceeds of crime.
