Brampton couple killed in small plane crash

Brant County OPP have confirmed it was a Brampton couple killed in a small plane crash at the Brantford Municipal AIrport early Tuesday morning (Nov. 13).

Ronald Chamberlain, 76, and his 81-year-old wife Mildred were found dead inside a Piper-Arrow plan that crashed on the airport property, poissibly around 1:30 a.m.

The couple, from Brampton, was pronounced dead following the crash. They were later identified by officers as 81-year-old Mildred Chamberlain and 76-year-old Ronald Chamberlain.

The wreckage wasnt discovered until 8 a.m. – by employees of the airport – but neighbours reported hearing a loud crashing noise around 1:30 a.m. The couple was found dead on scene, according to police.

Emergency crews were called to the Brantford Municipal Airport, located at 110 Aviation Avenue, at around 8 a.m. after a Piper-Arrow plane crashed.

BRANT COUNTY – Brant County OPP were called to the Brantford Municipal Airport this morning after receiving a report of a plane crash that occurred over night.

County of Brant, County of Brant Fire Service and County of Brant Ambulance Service responded to the scene.

Police arrived on the scene with the County of Brant Fire Services and the County of Brant Ambulance Service at approximately 8:00am and found a Piper Arrow plane had crashed on the property of the airport. 

OPP have confirmed two people are dead following the plane crash, but their identities have not been released.
