Peel Regional Police say a mother and her seven-year-old son are stable after the boys father struck them with an SUV in Brampton.
Police said officers responded to a call about a pedestrian struck just after 8:30 a.m. in the area of Conductor Lane and Portsdown Road.

Police said a man was driving an SUV and struck the victims in a driveway. Police later identified him as the husband and father of the victims. He was arrested on scene.

He was charged with two counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm and two counts of dangerous operation causing bodily harm.
Police said it appeared the man was in the driver’s seat with the door open when the vehicle started to back up and struck both the mother and son before crashing into the home.

A woman and her seven-year-old son are in life-threatening condition in hospital after being allegedly hit by their fathers pickup truck in the driveway of a home in Bramptons Mount Pleasant area on Tuesday morning.
Peel Regional Police said they were called at about 8:30 a.m. to the Conductor Lane and Portsdown Road area, just north of the Mount Pleasant GO train station.
Acting Sgt. Bancroft Wright said the driver of a Honda Ridgeline pickup reversed into the pair, possibly striking them with an open drivers side door.
The vehicle then continued into the garage of a townhome, tearing bricks from the structure and damaging the garage door of the townhouse.
They were taken to a local hospital for assessment and later transferred to a trauma centre for treatment.
Acting Sgt. Bancroft Wright said the woman is in stable condition and the boys condition was later upgraded from life-threatening to stable.
Police said Leon will be charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and two counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
