Brampton shooting sends male victim to trauma centre
A 29-year-old man is in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being shot in a vehicle at a Brampton intersection Friday.

Peel police said they were called to Queen Street and Finchgate Boulevard just before 5:30 p.m for a report of a shooting.

Police are asking those who were in the area to review their dash cam footage between the time of 5:00 p.m. to 5:20 p.m., paying special attention for the suspect vehicle, a red sedan.

Police said the victim was driving through an intersection when another vehicle pulled up alongside them and opened fire.

Police said the shooting occurred in the area of Queen Street East and Finchgate Boulevard at 5:20 p.m. The male victim was conscious when transported to hospital suffering from gunshot wounds.

The man was taken to a trauma centre with non-life threatening injuries. The passenger in the vehicle was not injured.

Peel Regional Police are appealing to the public to review their dash cam footage after a shooting in Brampton sent one male victim to a trauma centre on Friday (Nov. 8) evening.

Investigators said they are searching for a red sedan that was seen travelling southbound on Finchgate Boulevard from Queen Street to Clark Boulevard, then toward Torbram Road or the Bramalea area.

Any witnesses or anyone with information or dash cam video is asked to contact the Peel Police 21 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-453-3311 ext. 2133.

It was previously reported by police a blue pick-up truck was seen fleeing the scene, but later said the truck is not believed to be the suspect vehicle.

Police say the suspect who was in a vehicle shot at the victim who was a passenger in another vehicle.

The suspect vehicle, which is described as a red sedan, was seen travelling south on Finchgate Boulevard to Clark Boulevard then toward either Torbram Road or Bramalea Road.

The northbound lanes on Finchgate Boulevard south of Queen Street were closed for police investigation but have since reopened.
