In a written statement, LaGrange described confronting Ibrahim  while delivering hot meals to the Harbor Place office.

Police said they also found that a Johanne LaGrange, 73, had suffered multiple injuries, including a significant leg wound requiring stitches, after confronting Ibrahim for damaging her car.

Judge David Fenster ordered Ibrahim jailed without bail while his case pends. He also ordered that Ibrahim undergo competency and sanity evaluations. Fenster said further hearings would be scheduled once that evaluation is complete.
Shelburne police arrested Ibrahim  at Harbor Place, a motel that provides temporary lodging for homeless people. According to an affidavit written by Shelburne Police Officer Joshua Flore, a motel manager told police that Ibrahim had smashed windows on a couple of cars with a machete and then had retreated into a motel room.
