Woman arrested after police cruisers damaged during Burlington pursuit

Arlene Noel, 52, of Burlington is charged with flight from police, fail to remain and dangerous driving. She was held for a bail hearing.

According to a Halton police media release, the incident began after officers responded to a report of an intoxicated female seen entering a vehicle and driving away.

Officers again pursued the vehicle as there was “extreme concern for public safety” based on the way the car was being driven, the media release states.

Police say three officers attempted a rolling block, but the driver began to ram their cruisers and increased speed. As a result, the pursuit was again terminated.

The officers were trying to extract the driver from the car when it accelerated away and they were forced to let it go. The vehicle then entered the eastbound QEW.
