BURLINGTON, Ont. – A cab driver in Burlington, Ont., is facing a sex assault charge after an alleged incident involving a woman who had been a regular passenger.

Det. Sgt. Chris Newcombe says the 75-year-old man who was driving for Burlington Taxi allegedly showed unannounced up at the womans apartment.

"The two parties had spoken on one occasion prior to the incident, so the male was invited into the victim's residence, at which point she was sexually assaulted," the news release reads.

A Burlington taxi driver has been charged in connection with an alleged sexual assault that occurred this past summer.

On Oct. 25, members of Halton Regional Police Service’s child abuse and sexual assault unit concluded its investigation with the identification of the man believed to be responsible for a sexual assault of a woman at an apartment building on Claridge Road on July 27.

Donald Williams, 75, of Burlington, was arrested and charged with one count of sexual assault. He was released from custody with a November court date set.

According to a news release, the incident happened at an apartment complex on Claridge Road on July 27.
