Chatham County Board of Assessors Vice-Chairman Tommy Boondry was arrested Monday morning on charges that included possession of methamphetamine and cocaine.

Boondry, 67, and Ursula Hallman-Godbee, 50, were stopped around 4:45 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Burroughs and West 37th streets for a malfunctioning headlight, police spokeswoman Bianca Johnson said.

The driver of the vehicle, 50-year-old Ursula Hallman-Godbee, has also been arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, cocaine, drug-related objects and for driving with a suspended or revoked license.

The 2012 Honda Civic was being driven by Hallman-Godbee. When police searched the vehicle, they found meth and cocaine, Johnson said.

Boondry was charged with two felony drug possession counts of possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, possession of drug-related objects, and permitting an unlicensed person to drive and open container, Johnson said.

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) – The vice-chair of the Chatham County Board of Assessors was arrested in the early morning hours Monday after drugs were found in a vehicle he was in.

Hallman-Godbee was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, driving with suspended or revoked license, possession of drug-related objects, improper headlights and open container, Johnson said.

The Chatham County Board of Assessors is responsible for notifying the public of changes in property tax law.

Chief Appraiser Roderick Conley said the Board of Assessors has no comment on the arrest, and the board is investigating the matter.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – The vice-chairman of the Chatham County Board of Assessors has been arrested for possession of meth and cocaine among other charges.

According to the Savannah Police Department (SPD), vice chair Tommy Boondry, 67, was riding with Ursula Hallman-Godbee, 50, during a traffic stop early Monday morning.

SPD says the vehicle was pulled over in the ara of Burroughs and W. 37th streets for a malfunctioning headlight.

Boondry faces the following charges: possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, possession of drug-related objects, permitting unlicensed person to drive and open container.

Hallman-Godbee faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, driving with suspended or revoked license, possession of drug-related objects, improper headlights and open container.

The Board of Assessors is responsible for submitting a tax digest for Chatham County, assessing property value and notifying the public of changes in tax property law.

News 3 reached out the Chatham County Board of Assessors for comment. Citing an open investigation, the county says they are not releasing a statement at this time.
