STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)- A national fraternity will go on trial Monday in Monroe County.

Investigators say a brutal hazing ritual lead to the death of 18-year-old Michael Deng.

On Monday, detectives testified that the fraternity brothers were not forthcoming with information when they were being questioned and several of them blatantly lied to police at the scene about what happened.Posted: Nov 13, 2017 05:04 PM EST

In court Monday, the prosecution recounted what happened to Chun “Michael” Deng back in December of 2013. The brutal hazing and how the brothers tried to cover it up.

Authorities charged 37 members of the fraternity in the incident.
