Cause of fatal rollover still under investigation
A 68-year-old man died Wednesday when the pickup truck he was driving rolled on a highway south of Grande Prairie.

In a news release, Grande Prairie RCMP says they responded around 5 p.m. on Wednesday to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 666 — five kilometres north of Grovedale.

They pulled over the vehicle and during the stop say they found a small amount of meth, a loaded restricted firearm with a tampered serial number, $300 in counterfeit money, two cans of bear spray, a machete, two throwing knives and a fake gun.

Grande Prairie RCMP are still investigating the cause of a rollover near Grovedale two days ago that killed one driver.

Two people have been arrested and charged following a traffic stop in The city. On September 5th, members of the Grande Prairie Crime Reduction Unit were downtown when they say they saw a vehicle with a stolen licence plate.

A pickup truck rolled on Highway 666, five kilometres north of Grovedale, around 5 p.m. on Sept. 18.

The female passenger in the vehicle was charged with possession of a controlled substance. She appeared in court on September 16th.

A 24-hour fundraising campaign called Busk Till Dawn is raising money for at-risk youth and Youth Empowerment & Support Services.
