Over $11K worth of drugs, loaded BB guns seized in Guelph arrest

NEWS RELEASE GUELPH POLICE SERVICE *********************** Thomas Stephens, a 28-year-old Guelph male, was currently wanted for two counts of assault, two counts of utter threats, breach recognizance, robbery, and dangerous driving. There was also a Bench Warrant and a Surety Revocation Warrant for Stephens.

On Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018 at approximately 5:55 p.m., an off duty Guelph Police officer observed Stephens in a business on Woodlawn Road. Police were called and attended to the business. A short foot pursuit ensued in the parking lot and Stephens was arrested.

Slung over Stephens shoulder was a black satchel. Inside the satchel was a loaded BB gun revolver. Also in the satchel what is believed to be crystal meth, cocaine, and crack cocaine with a street value over $11,700. Also located was another BB gun that was loaded.

Officers said the man was wanted on a bench warrant and a surety revocation warrant. He was already facing two counts of assault, two counts of uttering threats, breaching recognizance, robbery and dangerous driving.

Stephens was further charged with carry a concealed weapon, weapons dangerous, and three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance. Stephens appeared in court Nov. 12, 2018.

An off-duty member of the Guelph Police Service observed 28-year-old Thomas Stephens of Guelph at a business on Woodlawn Road at around 6 p.m.

According to a news release, Stephens was carrying a loaded BB gun revolver in a satchel, along with suspected crystal meth, cocaine and crack cocaine.

A Guelph man is facing numerous charges after police say he was carrying a loaded BB gun and a satchel with nearly $12,000 worth of prohibited drugs inside.

He was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, weapons dangerous and three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
