Guelph man charged in sexual assault investigation

NEWS RELEASE GUELPH POLICE SERVICE ************************ On Nov. 12, 2018, Guelph Police began an investigation into two separate incidents where a victim was sexually assaulted by a male at a mall on Stone Road.

Both incidents, the victim received unwanted and non-consensual contact from the male party. As a result, Peter Desjardins, a 66-year-old Guelph male has been charged with two counts of sexual assault.

The Guelph Police would like to remind the public that if you are in a situation and experience unwanted or non-consensual contact from anybody, including people known to you or strangers, get to a place of safety and call police. Aside from the police, there are several resources to assist survivors of sexual assaults.  Remember, “It’s never ok.”
