Man suffers critical injuries after head-on crash
An elderly man has been transported to hospital with critical injuries after a head-on collision between two vehicles around 8:00 a.m. on Monday morning.

He was a passenger in a van which collided with a white SUV carrying a mother and two young children who police say are under five years old.

Officials say the children were safely secured in car seats which played a major factor in keeping them safe.

Ontario Provincial Police says an elderly man and a man in his 40s are in critical condition after a motor-vehicle collision on Concession 6, near Mount Forest.

A 69-year-old male and a male in his forties who were in the second vehicle have been transported to a trauma centre in critical condition.

Two people are fighting for their lives and three others had to be pulled from a burning vehicle following a two-vehicle crash near Mount Forest.

The Ontario Provincial Police reported the crash on Concession 6 between Highway 89 and Sideroad 2 East, on Monday at around 8:30 a.m.

A 69-year-old man and another man in his 40s were both rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries. They have since been transferred to a trauma centre in critical condition.

Police said a young mother and two small children were pulled out of an SUV involved in the crash after it caught fire. The three were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

“One of the factors that we’re looking at is road conditions,” Cunningham said. “We see snow and a little bit of moisture on the road.”

Concession 6 between Highway 89 and Sideroad 2 East was closed to traffic for several hours while officers conducted an investigation.  The road has since been reopened.
