Few details have been released, but police said the investigation is taking place in the 6200 block of Willow Street.

Police are calling the investigation a suspicious circumstance call where a woman was found deceased.

Her body was found in a residence owned by the Halifax Peninsula Housing Co-op at 6316 Willow St. on Tuesday morning. A co-op board member contacted by The Chronicle Herald hadn't heard about the incident and was too upset to comment.

Members of Halifax police’s Special Investigation Section of the Criminal Investigation Division and the Forensic Investigative Section are on the scene.

Halifax Regional Police are investigating the death of a woman found dead in central Halifax Tuesday morning. 

In a news release, police said officers were called to a home on Willow Street near Dublin Street in relation to a "suspicious circumstance" where a woman was found dead.

Forensic investigators in white suits combed the area Tuesday morning and police taped off a large area around the scene. The body was removed around 11 a.m.
