Winning ticket for $1M prize sold in Kelowna

John Cotey won the money as part of the Oct. 20 Ontario 49 draw. This is his second major win through the lottery.

“I won part of a Lotto 6/49 $2 million jackpot with my lottery group at work years ago,” said Cotey in a news release.

“Even though I knew I had won, I checked my ticket again against a copy of the winning numbers,” he said. “But I still didn’t believe it – and scanned it three more times.”

The draw took place yesterday, resulting in a few new millionaires in Canada, The Lotto 6/49 draw for $5 million jackpot went to a winner in Ontario, however a winning ticket was also revealed to have been sold right here in Kelowna.
