One person pronounced dead after early-morning house fire
Emergency services were called to a fire at a bungalow on Appalachian Crescent, off Kingswood Drive, in the area of Ottawa Street and Strasburg Road, just before 4 a.m. on Monday.

Yellow caution tape surrounded the home hours after the fire and police cruisers were stationed outside. The large window pane at the front of the house is broken, exposing the inside of the home.

Emergency services responded to the house fire on Appalachian Crescent in the Alpine Village area of Kitchener the southwest part of the city at around 3:50 a.m.

Police are expected to be at the scene for some time as an investigation including the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal, the coroners officer and Kitcheners fire department, continues.
