Homicide investigators announced Tuesday that David Tull had been charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
Tyler Pastuck, 31, was found shot to death on June 9, 2017, at Browns Social House on 200th Street near the Langley Bypass. Kyle Gianis was found injured.
A man has been charged in connection with a 2017 shooting that claimed the life of one man and sent another to hospital in Langley.
Pastuck was convicted of manslaughter for a fatal beating outside his Campbell River townhouse in February 2010 and had a record of several assault convictions.
Gianis was convicted in 2008 of smuggling materials for making methamphetamine into Washington state and sentenced to 13 years. He was transferred to a Canadian jail in 2012 and paroled in 2013.
Tull is charged with first-degree murder for Pastuck’s death and attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder for the injury of the second man. Tull remains in custody and will appear in B.C. provincial court May 14.
A man is facing a first-degree murder charge in the death of a 31-year-old man who was gunned down outside a Langley restaurant in 2017.
David Tull also faces charges of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder in relation to a second man who was shot but survived, homicide investigators said Tuesday.
Tull's co-accused in the alleged conspiracy is Steven Mulligan-Brum, who made headlines in 2010 when he fired two shots at a group of teens he believed had slashed the tires on his BMW, killing 16-year-old Adem Aliu.
Tyler Pastuck was killed outside the Browns Socialhouse restaurant near Willowbrook Mall just before midnight on June 9, 2017. He was found dead at the scene, but a companion had gone back into the restaurant after the shooting.
"This was a fast moving and highly complex investigation," Cpl. Frank Jang said in a statement.
In addition to the conspiracy to commit murder charge, he and Mulligan-Brum are also charged in a separate case with conspiring to commit kidnapping in September 2018.
Mulligan-Brum also faces a separate charge of counseling someone to commit the murder of a woman who was charged in connection with a raid on a White Rock home where police found weapons, ammunition and cash. The charges against the woman were later stayed, but the incident made headlines.
Before Mulligan-Brum completed his sentence, parole board officials expressed concern about a troubling "level of arrogance and disregard for the law".
