Lethbridge police were called to the scene of a crash along Black Wolf Boulevard N. at about 5:45 p.m. and found that a blue Ford F-150 has struck an eight-year-old child.
The victim sustained unspecified injuries as a result and was taken to hospital in Calgary for treatment.
Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for many parts of central and southern Alberta and Calgarys Emergency Management Agency is asking people to secure outside property as winds are expected to exceed 90km/h in some areas.
An eight-year-old child has suffered serious injuries after being hit by a blue Ford F150 truck on Saturday.
Police said they were called to a crash along Blackwolf Blvd. North in Lethbridge at around 5:45 p.m. An AHS spokesperson said it happened near the Uplands Blvd. North intersection.
According to an EMS spokesperson, paramedics rushed the child to a health facility in Lethbridge but at around midnight, the child was flown by plane to Calgary. AHS said the child was in serious but stable condition at the time.
According to police, alcohol is not believed to be a factor. The serious collision investigation unit was called and the matter is currently under investigation.
