Actress Joan Collins, 85, is treated for breathing difficulties after escaping from a fire
As BBC News reports, the London Fire Brigade was called to a seven-storey building in London’s Belgravia district on Saturday at approximately 4:35 p.m. local time. That building is the home of the 85-year-old “Dynasty” star and husband Percy Gibson.

Approximately 10 firefighters battled the blaze, BBC News adds, eventually bringing the fire under control by 5:35 p.m. Collins was reportedly treated for smoke inhalation.

"The brigade was called at 4.28pm and the fire was under control by 5.36pm. Two fire engines and a turn table ladder from Soho fire station attended the scene.

Describing the incident as “terrifying,” Collins utilized social media to thank the firefighters, first responders, police and her “hero” husband, who “doused the flames consuming the entire wall with [a] handheld extinguisher.”

She offered special thanks to the “#Ambulance crew who took care our smoke inhalation and comforted me. And the wonderful @metropoliceuk who kept the street closed and everyone safe.”

Dame Joan posted a video of the charred remains of her living room on Instagram, writing: "The remains of the day…see my recent #tweet Thank you @londonfirebrigade."

Dame Joan Collins treated by paramedics after her Belgravia flat is ravaged by fire

Joan Collins has been treated for smoke inhalation after a terrifying fire tore through her London home yesterday evening.

She said an entire wall of her flat went up in flames and while her husband Percy Gibson tried to put it out, it was no use and she had to call the fire service.

Shocking images taken after the blaze was extinguished show the charred and crumbling interior of the 85-year-old actresss exclusive Belgravia flat. 

Two fire engines and ten firefighters battled the flames which engulfed the first floor of a seven-storey apartment block. 

She tweeted: “And thanks also to the @NHSEnglandLDN #nhs #emt #Ambulance crew who took care of our smoke inhalation and comforted me. And the wonderful @metpoliceuk who kept the street closed and everyone safe. #gratitude”.

And a video on Collinss Instagram lays bare the damage caused by the fire which has devastated her home. 

In the comments, London Fire Brigade wrote: “So sorry you had experience this. But glad we were able to help. Do let us know if we can offer any further assistance.”
