2 dead after vehicle crashes into tree in Markham, police say
York Regional Police has released blurred video of two witnesses captured on video surveillance in connection with a shooting in Markham on Aug. 1.

Police responded to several calls for the sound of gunshots at  a restaurant located at 5460 Highway 7 East, shortly after 11 p.m.

The suspect remains at large and investigators continue to appeal for any information on identity and for any information that may assist in identifying the year, make and model of the motorcycle, a news release issued by police on Thursday said.

When they arrived at the scene, they found a 39-year-old man fatally shot. Police identified the victim but CityNews has chosen not to name him at the familys request.

The suspect fled from the scene on a motorcycle and police have previously released images of the suspect and the motorcycle involved.

On Thursday, police released video of two people talking to one another while standing beside a line of parked vehicles. Investigators said they hope these two people, who witnessed the shooting, will come forward or be identified by the public.

Investigators are looking to speak to the two people in the video released Thursday, who are seen conversing in a parking lot. Police are hoping they will recognize themselves and come forward.

As the suspect in a fatal shooting outside of a Markham noodle bar earlier this month remains at large, investigators have released security camera footage showing two witnesses in the hopes they will come forward with any information.

The suspect remains at large and anyone with information on their identity or information that would help identify the year, make and model of the motorcycle is asked to get in touch with police.

Investigators are also appealing to local businesses and residents living close by to come forward with any surveillance or dashcam footage that may have captured the suspect and motorcycle.

Investigators are also interested in any video surveillance from local gas stations, businesses, residences and vehicle dash-cams that may capture the suspect and motorcycle before or after the incident.
