Two-vehicle collision in York Region leaves one person dead
One person died following a two-vehicle collision in Markham on Saturday evening, York Regional Police say. 

According to duty inspector Peter Casey, the call came in around 6:30 p.m. of a crash at the intersection of York Durham Line and 19th Avenue. 

No further information on the cause of the accident will be released until the investigation has been completed, Casey added. 

One of the drivers was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where they were pronounced dead. The other driver suffered minor injuries.

York Regional Police said one person with life-threatening injuries was taken to a hospital. The victim was later pronounced dead.

The driver of one of the vehicles was also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
