Man arrested after police warn public about sex attacks in Mississauga park

Peel Regional Police have arrested a Toronto man wanted in a sexual assault investigation in Mississauga.

An adult female was sexually assaulted by an individual on a bicycle along a pathway in Lakefront Promenade Park on Monday, Oct. 8 at 5 p.m. Police say the suspect is believed to be responsible for another sexual assault in the same area several days prior.

Jonathan Flynn, a 31-year-old man from Toronto, was arrested and charged with two counts of sexual assault and one count of assault with a weapon on Monday, Oct. 8. He is in police custody pending a bail hearing.

Investigators with Peel Polices Special Victims Unit believe he may have committed similar acts in the area. Anyone with information pertaining to these incidents is asked to contact the Special Victims Unit at at 905-453-2121 ext. 3460. A 31-year-old Toronto man is in police custody after two women were sexually assaulted along a bike path in Mississaugas Lakeview area earlier this week.

Peel Regional Police say that on Monday, a woman was riding her bike on Lakefront Promenade, south of Lakeshore Road East when she was approached by an unknown male and sexually assaulted.

Investigators say they received reports of a similar incident occurring in the same location several days earlier.

The Ontario government says it will cancel a scheduled increase in the provincial beer tax that was set to kick in next month.
