Homesick wife has Erik Karlsson interested in playing for the Montreal Canadiens: report - Daily Hive
Report: Erik Karlsson hoping for competitive offers from Senators, Canadiens
But its not yet clear if the Habs plan on going after the two-time Norris Trophy winner in free agency.

Star defenceman Erik Karlsson is hoping to receive a “competitive offer” from the Montreal Canadiens when NHL free agency begins on July 1, according to a report in the Ottawa Citizen.

The two-time Norris Trophy winner, who was traded from Ottawa to San Jose in September, is reportedly interested in the Habs because it is near his homesick wife’s family.

It is not yet known if the Habs are interested in Karlsson or willing to spend the kind of money he’d command on the open market.

The 29-year-old Swede played in 53 games for the Sharks in 2018-19, chipping in 3 goals and 42 assists.

FWIW a guy who works with the Sens was just in my store and told me Karlsson is coming back so 🤷🏻‍♂️
