Crews submitted a police report on the incident in early November after joining the many women and men who have gone public with allegations of being sexually victimized by powerful figures in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal. In late November, Crews complained that Venit’s one-month unpaid suspension and demotion were not sufficient. Now we know the truth. And no amount of publicist-approved contrition can paper it over. People in the entertainment community, whether Jew or gentile, need to demonstrate that they understand how much is at stake in this by professionally shunning Mel Gibson and refusing to work with him, even if it means a sacrifice to their bottom line.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Terry Crews made headlines in the days following the first wave of Harvey Weinstein allegations by relaying, via Twitter, the story of how a “high level Hollywood exec” groped him at an industry function. He told the story, and described his inaction to the assault, to explain how he understands “why women who this happens to let it go,” in the hope that “me coming for ward with my story will deter a predator and encourage someone who feels hopeless.”

On Nov. 30, Crews tweeted what he captioned as a text exchange between himself and his former agent at WME, Brad Slater. “Brad – your boy Adam Venit – I was handing with Sandler the other night he was was DOPED UP,” reads Crews’ text. “It was embarrassing. Sandler had to call me to apologize. He actually grabbed my NUTS.”

While Venit did not respond to ABC News requests for comment at the time of the interview, William Morris Endeavor stated, “Adam Venit was suspended following the internal investigation into the matter.”Big Hollywood, Adam Venit, Hollywood, sexual assault, Terry Crews, WME

“Mike has been putting everything in place for us.”User Agreement and Privacy Policy”I’ve never felt more emasculated, more objectified. I was horrified,” Crews said on GMA.The actor is suing for assault, battery, sexual battery, sexual harassment, gender violence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, breach of fiduciary duty, negligence and negligent retention and supervision. But, as indicated in his original tweets, he also clearly sees this is a symbolic action as well. As attorney Bryan Sullivan writes in the complaint, “After all, if Crews, a 6’4″, muscled man, former professional athlete, with a long list of entertainment industry credits, can be the victim of sexual assault at the hands of a much more powerful individual in the entertainment industry, anyone can be a victim.”

In October, Crews took to Twitter and described the alleged assault. Venit — whose clients include Sandler, Emma Stone, and Dustin Hoffman — was placed on a one-month suspension by the firm following Crews’ allegations, but returned to the company and was demoted from his position as head of WME’s Motion Picture Group.

The complaint asserted that Venit had not been properly held accountable for the “blatant and unprovoked sexual assault.” When Terry Crews came forward with his account of being sexually assaulted by a prominent Hollywood agent, he was celebrated for having the courage to share his experience, and for standing in solidarity with the women who were coming forward with allegations against Harvey Weinstein and other alleged abusers.

Venit hasn’t publicly commented on the allegations and didn’t immediately respond to INSIDER’s request for comment.

Crew alleges that Mr Venit, a William Morris Endeavor (WME) talent agent, groped him at an industry event hosted by actor Adam Sandler.

Crews had previously filed a report with the Los Angeles Police Department in regards to the alleged assault. He first went public with his story on Oct. 10, shortly after the New York Times and New Yorker ran bombshell sexual harassment exposes about Harvey Weinstein.

“It shrunk me. It’s like I was no longer a person, only ornamental.”

And that’s not to mention the many, many other women in the #MeToo movement not interviewed by Time. The movement is mainly about women who have been sexually harassed, assaulted, or raped by men in the workplace or in daily life. But Crews’ inclusion highlights the smaller but significant place for men in the movement as well.
