The Giants are 4-3-2-1in their last 10 while the Thunderbirds are 7-2-1-0.

Both teams have been doing well this season and should be present for the 2017 Western Hockey League playoffs, but there’s always a need of points in the standings at this time of year. The Thunderbirds are locked in a bitter wild card battle with the Spokane Chiefs and Tri-City Americans for third in the U.S. Division — one point separating the three clubs — with the two others occupying the wild card spots.

Tyszka is two years younger than his teammate Strand and recently surpassed the 150 games played milestone for his WHL career. Saturday’s WHL in 30 broadcast will be a homecoming for Tyszka, who hails from Langley, B.C. He has six points (2G-4A) against the Giants in his WHL career.

Not only was he selected as the WHL “On The Run” Player of the Week, but the CHL Player of the Week as well. Approaching the 50-goal plateau, Ronning is the Western Conference leader in goals.
