Lebron James produced a moment of magic but could not save his side from defeat
Report: Isaiah Thomas Was Barking at Cavs Bench, Trying to Kill Cavs Last Night
The 14 time NBA all-star was able to deceive two Lakers players by pretending to pass to Kyle Korver before releasing the ball to Ante Zizic to complete the play.
“I want to kind of try to break the mold just for the next generation, just take the narrative out of, ‘You’re past your prime when you hit 31,’ or ‘You’re past your prime in your 12th year in the league,’ or whatever the case may be,” James said. “Hopefully I can break the mold so when the next guy comes, he can still get $200 or $300 million and be 33 years old. I’m serious.”
Regardless of James crowd wowing moment at the Staples Center, James ended up on the losing side as Lakers won 127 – 113.
Lebron and his Cleveland Cavalier team will take on Phoenix Suns in their next NBA game.
Signing with another team will cost James $53 million, but
the prospect of winning another championship with a third team may be a tempting offer for him. He led the Miami Heat to back-to-back championships in 2012 and 2013 while giving the Cavaliers their first title in 2016.

According to ESPN.coms Dave McMenamin and Brian Windhorst, James was skeptical of the deal because of Thomas hip injury, and he felt the Cavs shouldve used leverage for even greater compensation after they knew the severity of ITs ailment.
Isaiah Thomas Speaks on Playing Against Cavaliers for First Time Since Being Traded
Being traded away from any team often has a tendency to increase the motivations of the player dealt, which is apparently what happened with former Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Isaiah Thomas on Sunday night. Playing for his new team, the Los Angeles Lakers, Thomas appears to have savored getting revenge on the Cavaliers, who lost 127-113.

Report: LeBron was disappointed in Cavs inability to get more in Kyrie trade
Thomas himself didn’t offer that opinion. That came on Monday from his new teammate, Kyle Kuzma, who discussed (approximately two minutes into the video) Thomas’ apparent emotions during the contest:
Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James was reportedly not a proponent of the offseason trade that sent Kyrie Irving to
the Boston Celtics for Isaiah Thomas and other pieces.

On Sunday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers will have their first opportunity to face the team’s former point guard, Isaiah Thomas, when they take on the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center. Thomas played only 15 games for the Cavs before being dealt to the Lakers after having been acquired from the Boston Celtics just last August. It now appears that the earlier deal was one that LeBron James apparently felt never should have been made in the first place.
LeBron James disappointed by how Cavs reworked Kyrie Irving-Isaiah Thomas trade
“He was barking at Clevelands bench the whole time, every time he scored, so that was cool,” Kuzma said.
“Had the Cavs backed out, which they considered doing for several days, the Celtics would have been in a tough position. They had already celebrated Irving’s arrival and would have alienated Thomas and Jae Crowder. Adding to the Cavs’ leverage was the nature of Thomas’ hip injury becoming public, thereby further diminishing his trade value and putting Boston in an even tighter spot if the deal fell through.
Kuzma was then asked if it was fun to see Thomas’ motivations in action:
“He was only there for 15 games, but it was good to see him try to kill them,” Kuzma said. “We have a saying, ‘Your last team, they didnt want you.’ So he took it to them, and he did a great job.”
During Sunday night’s game, Thomas came off the bench and played 31 minutes. During that time, he scored 20 points, handed out nine assists and grabbed five rebounds. The Lakers led for virtually the entire game and pulled away with a 22-3 run during the third quarter.
