Teen struck by car in Oshawa dies in hospital: police
A 17-year-old boy who was struck by a car while walking with two friends in Oshawa last week has died of his injuries in hospital, Durham Regional Police say.

The Whitby teen was walking in the area of Conlin Road in Oshawa, near Thornton Road at 10:52 p.m. Friday when a vehicle heading eastbound on Conlin struck him.

Officers said at the time that lighting in the area was poor and the weather was not favourable.

Investigators said both lighting and weather conditions were not favourable in the area when the crash occurred. There was no word on whether the driver will face charges.

The 17-year-old was walking on Conlin Road and Thornton Road late Friday night in the rain when he was struck.

The teen was with two friends on Conlin Road on the evening of April 19 when he was struck by a driver travelling eastbound near Thornton Road.
