The man, who was from the Regina area, entered the water and began struggling Friday evening around 7:30 p.m., according to a news release from Moose Jaw RCMP. A bystander attempted a rescue and brought the man to shore, where multiple people administered CPR, including police officers.

A 35-year-old man from the Regina area is dead after drowning at Buffalo Pound Provincial Park Saturday night.

A 35-year-old man from the Regina area drowned in Buffalo Pound Provincial Park around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, according to police.

The RCMP said the man was at a family gathering on the beach when around 7:30 p.m. he entered the water and began struggling.

Police said a bystander attempted to rescue the man by bringing him to shore, where multiple people — including Mounties — administered CPR.
