Police called to high school for incident involving staff members
The Regina Police Service say they are investigating following an alleged altercation at Sheldon-Williams Collegiate involving staff on Tuesday morning.

Officers were sent to the school and say there were no weapons involved or physical injury to report, according to police.

According to the Regina Police Service, officers were sent to the school at about 8:10 a.m., for a disturbance. A communications supervisor for Regina Public Schools called it an alleged altercation involving staff members.

Police were called to Sheldon-Williams Collegiate Tuesday morning after receiving a complaint about an incident involving staff.

There weren’t any weapons involved and there weren’t any injuries. Both the public schools communications supervisor and the police stressed that students weren’t involved.

According to information from the Regina Police Service, officers were dispatched at 8:08 a.m. to the high school at 2601 Coronation St.

No students were involved in the incident, though they may have been witnesses, according to a spokesperson for Regina Public Schools. Video of the incident may also exist on social media.

City police spokeswoman Elizabeth Popowich said while the incident remains under investigation, there didn’t seem to have been a physical altercation, nor were there weapons or students involved, except perhaps as witnesses. She added no physical injuries resulted and the “disturbance” itself was resolved quickly.

Regina Public Schools spokesman Terry Lazarou confirmed there had been an “alleged altercation” at the school involving staff members. He said he didn’t know much as of yet about the incident.

Regina police were called to Sheldon Williams Collegiate on Tuesday morning after reports of an altercation between staff members at the school.

“I don’t know the cause. I don’t know the reason. I don’t know the outcome,” he said. “But I do know that it did not involve students.”

Lazarou added he did not know who specifically was alleged to have been involved in the situation. He said it’s unlikely Regina Public Schools will be commenting much on the incident as it’s a “staff-related matter.”
