A man believed to be in his 50s has been taken to a trauma centre after being struck by a vehicle in Scarborough.

Emergency crews respond to the scene where a pesedetrian was struck by a vehicle near Middlefield Road and Arbor Gate.

A man in his 50s is in serious but non-life-threatening condition after being struck by a vehicle in Scarborough Wednesday evening, paramedics say.

Emergency services received a call for a pedestrian collision at 6:50 p.m. near Middlefield Rd. and Arbor Low Gt., and took the victim to a trauma centre shortly after.

The vehicle that struck the man remained on scene, police said. Lanes in the area are closed, and police urge drivers to avoid the area.
