A 16-year-old girl is in life-threatening condition after a violent assault in the city’s east end.

Police say they were called to a building on Trudelle Street in the the area of Eglinton Avenue and McCowan Road just after 6 p.m. Friday for what they described as “unknown trouble.”

When they arrived, they found a girl with obvious signs of trauma and a woman with injuries in an apartment unit. Police say there was an altercation and the suspect fled the scene.

He is described as five-foot-11 with a brown complexion and skinny build. He is believed to be 160 pounds, wearing a white jacket. He was last seen wearing a red shirt with a white zip-up jacket. He is believed to be driving a grey 2009 Toyota Tundra pick-up truck with Ontario License Plate AJ 21674.

A 16-year-old girl was taken to a trauma center suffering from multiple stab wounds to the upper body. A 37-year-old woman, believed to be the girl’s mother, was also taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Police say two other small children in the apartment were not injured.

He is believed to be driving a grey 2009 Toyota Tundra pick-up truck with Ontario license plate AJ 21674.

A short time later, the teenager’s mother, 37, was transported to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre with serious, but not-life-threatening head injuries. She was not stabbed, paramedics say.

The teenage girl was taken to The Hospital for Sick Children in life-threatening condition after suffering multiple stab wounds. Her 37-year-old mother was taken to a local hospital after being struck in the head several times, though police told CP24 on Saturday morning that she has since been released. They also said that the 16-year-old is now listed in serious condition.
