Joe Scarborough Gives His Holiday Thanks to Hillary Clinton: She Deserves Better
MSNBC host Joe Scarborough issued a tweet thread on Thanksgiving Day giving thanks for Hillary Clinton and applauding her “grit” and “determination” that powered her through decades of public service.

Mr. Scarborough, a former Republican congressman who renounced the party last year due to his disdain for President Trump, tweeted several smiling photos of Mrs. Clinton to his 2.52 million followers, admiring her “passion to try and make the world a better place.”

“Why give thanks for Hillary?” the MSNBC personality asked. “Because we must all do a better job understanding that the treatment Secretary Clinton has received from Trump and his allies discourages others on both sides from committing their lives to public service. Hillary deserves better. We deserve better.”

“Though Ive not often been on her side politically, I have respected her grit, determination and fierce work ethic,” Scarborough added. “History will remember her as a challenged campaigner but should also remember her as a senator passionate about policy who was respected by Senate Republicans.”

Mr. Scarborough went on to defend the twice-failed presidential candidate from attacks by her former rival, President Trump, whose chants of “lock her up” dominated his 2016 campaign.

Scarborough wrote, “Im thankful that as a young Goldwater Republican, Hillary Rodham became interested in public service. The tragedy of Vietnam transformed her politics but did not dampen her passion to try and make the world a better place.”

Mrs. Clinton didn’t return the love Thursday, tweeting only, “May we all open our hearts and reach across tables today. May we all find hopes and values in common. May there be pie. Happy Thanksgiving.”

As everyone shared what they’re thankful for yesterday, Joe Scarborough gave some thanks to Hillary Clinton.

While some people on Thanksgiving were grateful for new churches, new opportunities, new babies, grief, pain, and even spiders, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough was thankful for someone in particular: Hillary Clinton.

Scarborough gave thanks for his mother first, tweeting out a picture and saying he’s “so thankful for my amazing mom and the wonderful life her unconditional love and hard work made possible for us all.”

He wrote, “We have so much to be grateful for but Im so thankful for my amazing mom and the wonderful life her unconditional love and hard work made possible for us all.”

On Thursday night, the “Morning Joe” co-host shared an extensive Twitter update giving thanks for Clinton, all while taking shots at President Donald Trump.

Scarborough concluded his Clinton celebration by noting that Americans simply “deserve better” — presumably “better” than Trump as president.

He went on and added that he’s grateful for the former Secretary of State and presidential candidate’s work ethic and determination.

In the past, Scarborough has been very critical of Clinton, but back in August, he said he’s “never seen a former presidential candidate continue to be skewered and treated as badly as Hillary Clinton still is almost two years after that election.”
