St. Catharines convenience store robbed

Niagara Regional Police are investigating after a robbery at a St. Catharines convenience store Monday night.

At 9:36 p.m., uniform officers, along with the canine unit, responded to reports of a robber at the Avondale Food Store at 461 Bunting Rd., said a release from the NRP.

The initial investigation determined a male suspect entered the store and demanded cash from the lone employee. The suspect left the store with some cash and fled before police arrived, said the NRP.
