
Environment Canada issued a weather warning early Thursday, forecasting the “largest snowfall so far this season” with five to 10 centimetres of snow falling in the London area starting in the afternoon.
The national weather agency says a deepening low-pressure system moving up along the Eastern Seaboard of the United States will reach Southern Ontario later Thursday, with most of the snow falling at night.
This snowfall may have major impacts on the commute this evening as well as the commute Friday morning, so drivers should plan for extra time to reach their destination.
Environment Canada says motorists can expect poor driving conditions, with Thursday night and Friday morning commutes likely to be impacted by the snow.
The snow will also be coupled with chilly temperatures both Thursday and Friday, with daytime highs of 1 C for both days.
Early Thursday morning, Environment Canada issued a weather travel advisory for the City of Toronto, in effect beginning this afternoon.

This snowfall may have major impacts on the commute this evening as well as the commute Friday morning. Motorists should plan for extra time to reach their destination. This is expected to be the largest snowfall event so far this season. The snow will slowly taper off on Friday.
